Lakita’s Bio
Lakita Fane, director and founder of Paneh Praise Dance Ministry; she has a servant's heart and is dedicated to doing the work of the Lord. Lakita was baptized at the age of 6 and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. She is a member of Bethesda Temple Church of Alton, IL under the leadership of Bishop Lawrence Brown III & Pastor Tanya Brown. She serves as the dance ministry president, currently overseeing Perfected Praise (children's praise dance ministry), Halal Teen Dance Ministry and Rejoice Dance Ministry.
Lakita is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. She also received an active duty officer's commission into the United States Air Force in 2002. Her military assignment transitioned her from hometown Buffalo, NY to O'Fallon, IL to work as a communications officer at Scott Air Force Base. In 2005, Lakita received permanent change of station (PCS) orders to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. Following the direction of the Lord, Lakita took a leap of faith and separated 1-yr early from active duty. She immediately transitioned to a reserve officer and was eventually hired as a civilian defense contractor for the United States Air Force.
Lakita was first introduced to ministry of dance in January 2004. It didn't take her long to realize this is what she has been called to do. Paneh was birthed out of a desire to see dance ministries reach a level of worship that comes from being in the presence of God. Her passion for teaching & desire to see dancers grow spiritually has opened doors for to minister locally and abroad through movement and spoken word.
In 2005, she launched a free monthly newsletter that features articles, resources and upcoming events pertinent to dance ministers. This active newsletter continues to increase monthly with new subscribers from all around the world!
Following the leading of the Lord, in September 2007 Lakita hosted the first Equipping the Saints Dance & Worship Arts conference in Fairview Heights, IL. Dance ministers came from all over the nation came to take part in this 2 day event. Since then, Equipping the Saints has grown to a 4 day conference & retreat. To date, we've been blessed with representatives from 28 states and 5 nations. Lakita has also partnered with Rekesha Pittman to form Worship Arts Consultants, LLC which specializes in “Perfecting the Work of Ministry.”
Lakita strives to set an example as a godly woman by trusting and waiting on the Lord. She is married to Anthony Fane, minister, intercessor, and supporter! Lakita gives honor to God for her mother, Jessie Jacobs, who taught her from an early age to "trust in the Lord and lean not to thine own understanding", spiritual leaders Suffragan Bishop Gregory Wells Sr. & Lady Joyce Wells for their wisdom, direction, and guidance and her Pastors Bishop Lawrence Brown III & Pastor Tanya Brown for their love, support, teaching, and leading by example. She is humbled and honored to be used by God to reach His people. It is her prayer to see souls saved for the Kingdom of God!
