Every Thursday, I will post a link round-up of articles I've found while researching the Internet.  While all may not be directly related to dance ministry or worship arts, I hope it will be of benefit to the dance ministers, mime ministers and worship artists that frequent this site.  However, since tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I decided to post the weekly round-up on a Wednesday.

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name." 1 Chronicles 29:11-13 (KJV)

His Hem Ministry writes a brief devotion called I am Grateful.  It was written earlier in the week and offers the readers a 7 day challenge leading up to Thanksgiving, even though it would be too late to complete by Thanksgiving, it is still a challenge worth doing!

Abraham Lincoln issued a 'Thanksgiving Proclamation' on third October 1863 and officially set aside the last Thursday of November as the national day for Thanksgiving. Whereas earlier the presidents used to make an annual proclamation to specify the day when Thanksgiving was to be held.

4Dancers Blog reminds us as dancers that In the Spirit of Thanksgiving we need to be thankful for our bodies as it is an “instrument of expression”.  Editor’s note: I would go further to say, for the sacred dancer, remember that our body of our temple.

It is myth that what is known as Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year.  That “honor” is typically given to the Saturday before Christmas

Firebird Speaks Reminds us that Ministry = Service as she narrates the story of a dance ministry’s participation in an annual Walk-a-Faith event, dancing on the steps of Providence, RI City Hall and raise money for the homeless.  Job well done!

Cyber Monday is a relatively new term (first used in the ecommerce community in 2005) to describe the spike in online purchases the Monday after Thanksgiving.  It faces criticism and to some have been called no more than a “buzz word” invented by the National Retailers Association

We want to hear from you!  What are you thankful for this holiday season?
Do you plan to shop the day after Thanksgiving?
